Vancouver man arrested for allegedly sending small shipments of fentanyl to U.S.

Canadian and American border agencies have worked with the RCMP to arrest a Vancouver man who was allegedly importing illegal firearms from the United States while sending small shipments of fentanyl to New York State.On Friday, B.C.’s specialized gang unit announced Jordan Tanner Dakota Treleaven, 32, was arrested the day before in Edmonton as part of an investigation it started in February with the Canada Border Services Agency into alleged importation of guns.
Officials say a wildfire near Squamish, B.C., which forced the evacuation of the nearby Alice Lake Provincial Park and triggered a local state of emergency earlier this week, is now classified as being held after help from cool, cloudy weather conditions.The BC Wildfire Service announced the fire was being held, meaning the fire is expected to remain within its current perimeter based on fuel and weather conditions and resource availability, on Saturday afternoon.
