Doug Ford delivers stiff uppercut to Trump’s plastic jaw with Regan ad

October 29, 2025

Absolutely  brilliant move by the Ontario government to use Ronald Reagan's speech promoting free trade against Trump's tariffs.

You know it was the right move because it forced a reaction from the Liar-in-Chief.

Meanwhile "elbows-down" Carney was caught off guard by Trump's grandiose reaction.

Yet it is only political pressure such as this that will lead to a return to sanity in US-Canada relations.  Especially when Republicans in Congress are sleepwalking.

Clearly political pressure gives Canada a card to play in the game where Carney has chosen to not use the cards at his disposal.

Canada has several other cards that, so far, Carney's soft approach has declined to use.

One example is a reversal of the tariffs on China to show clearly that US needs to earn the expectation to have Canada onside.

Trump has chosen to make the path to smooth relations with the USA difficult. So be it, the only way for him to reverse course is to make it painful.

The TACO president has already shown that he backs down when the going gets tough, and exploits when he thinks he can get away with it with impunity.
