If you’ve been trying to snag tickets to popular concerts and events, you have probably lost the resale pricing battle a handful of times. And as the Toronto Blue Jays gear up for the World Series, Canadian sports fans are revisiting that harsh reality. Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he’s had enough, and he intends to do something about it. But how much can he do? Stephen Selznick is a partner with Toronto-based Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP. He says there are rules around ticket pricing in some Canadian jurisdictions. However, besides barring bots or using platforms to prove if resale tickets are authentic, that’s the closest thing we’ve seen to a crackdown at this point. He joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
