An Ottawa judge has taken the rare step of asking counsel to expand on and clarify evidence in the 2023 killing of an Amnesty International worker, and said that without it, she's unable to decide whether the man accused of murder should be found not criminally responsible due to mental disorder.

TFI International Inc. TFII-T has reported a drop in second-quarter profit as weak demand took a toll on the volume of goods it hauls. Canada’s largest trucking firm reported net income of US$98.2-million for the three months ended June 30, down from US$115.7-million a year earlier. That amounted to earnings of US$1.17 per diluted share, a decrease from US$1.36 during the same 2024 period.
