Calgary police officer charged with two counts of murder

A Calgary police officer has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder after Alberta’s civilian oversight agency investigated a 2023 shooting that left two men dead. Constable Craig Stothard appeared in court Tuesday and was released on conditions, the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team said in a statement.
