Canada, NATO allies agree to massive defence spending boost

Canada and its NATO allies agreed at the annual leaders summit to substantially hike the alliance defence spending target from two per cent of GDP now, to five per cent of annual GDP by 2035. Prime Minister Mark Carney says the new pledge will be reviewed in 2029.
