May 30, 2025
A Crown attorney interrogated Carter Hart, who is testifying in his own defence at the criminal trial of five former members of Canada’s 2018 world junior hockey team, about gaps in his memory from the night he and his then teammates allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a hotel room.Under cross-examination by prosecutor Meaghan Cunningham in a London, Ont. courtroom on Friday, Mr. Hart acknowledged he had long periods of memory blackouts from the early morning hours of June 19, 2018.
On Thursday, the government rejected a call to declare intimate partner violence and epidemic but restarted a committee which had been studying the topic since last year.
