Kent McDonald hopes he will be able to vote on Monday after experiencing significant barriers in the 2021 federal election that led him to not cast a ballot. The math and science teacher living on Little Red River Cree Nation, a semiremote Northern Alberta reserve about 800 kilometres north of Edmonton comprised of three communities, said he had planned to vote during his break at school where a polling station was supposed to be set up.
Prime Minister Mark Carney, projected to form the next federal government, spoke to an excited crowd in Ottawa on Tuesday morning.
