Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. March 6th, 2025

March 6, 2025
According to multiple reports from BNN Bloomberg and Reuters, U.S. President Donald Trump has taken a few miles off of his 4-seam fastball. That, my dear friends, is a baseball reference. And the biggest industry that can breathe a temporary sigh of relief is, without question, the North American automotive sector. Over the next 30 days, U.S. officials say that Tuesday’s tariffs are being ‘paused’, but that doesn’t mean America’s ‘Big Cheese’ has withdrawn them completely. And yet, in the eyes of many, the damage has already been done. Kristy Cameron has a heart-to-heart conversation with Eric Sauvé, a former Canadian Army officer who worked as a liaison officer with the U.S. Military. He says he feels ‘betrayed’ after watching Trump unleash his economic barrage at America’s longtime allies. We also examine the economic fallout of Trump’s controversial tariffs with David Pierce, a Vice-President of Government Relations for the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. And as for those tariffs on steel and aluminum, nothing changes there. We explain further in Hour 2.
