Mounties in British Columbia’s southern Interior say the province’s police watchdog has been called in after a shooting involving an officer that sent one man to hospital with gunshot injuries.A statement from the RCMP says officers from Penticton had attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a person believed to be in possession of a gun on Saturday shortly after 4 p.m.Police stopped the vehicle, but they say the driver ran, leading to an “interaction” during which one officer shot the man.
