February 6, 2025

As we enter Day 8 of the Ontario election campaign, the Green Party is shining a bright light on provincial poverty, a trend that continues to worsen at every turn. Mike Schreiner says, if elected, they vow to put an end to legislative poverty across the province. Meantime, as the Liberals keep their focus on provincial healthcare and family doctors, we still don’t know the price tags of each political platform. Why is that? CFRA’s Andrew Pinsent has more on that story. Later in Hour 2, we shift our focus back to Canada’s top leaders, who are working around the clock to dodge Donald Trump’s tariffs. In fact, all three levels of government are pulling long hours, with federal Cabinet Ministers currently in Washington and municipalities working the phones non-stop. How does our city need to revamp its economy? Kristy Cameron explores further with Joe Cotroneo, the owner of Pub Italia on Preston Street. Plus, we have some LRT news to report. CFRA’s Chris Holski tells us if it’s good news or bad news.
