Ontario Premier Doug Ford has been pretty vocal about Donald Trump’s ’51st State’ idea. He says that Canada and the United States are better off as Grade-A trading partners and welcoming neighbours. He doesn’t want them living in the same house as a married couple. And he made those opinions very clear during a 1-on-1 conversation with FOX News host Jessie Watters. You’ll hear some of those highlights in Hour 1. Meantime, Liberal MPs are assembling in Canada’s Capital this afternoon, their first in-person meeting since Justin Trudeau’s resignation as party leader and Prime Minister. Real estate sales across British Columbia were up in January compared with the year before, but average prices went down slightly.The B.C. Real Estate Association says in a statement that the 4,221 residential sales in January were up 6.4 per cent from January 2024, although unit sales were 12 per cent below the 10-year average.The association’s chief economist Brendon Ogmundson says an increase in both sales and listings may foreshadow a stronger year, with a caution that global uncertainties might trigger higher or lower rates from the Bank of Canada.
