Ontario’s political party leaders are fanning out across the province today for their first official day on the snowy campaign trail.Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford triggered the snap election more than a year before the next fixed date, plunging the province into a rare winter campaign that opposition parties say is unnecessary.
As Liberal leadership candidate Mark Carney shook hands, roasted marshmallows and talked to young hockey players at a South Ottawa community event Sunday afternoon, he received the ringing endorsement of Public Safety Minister David McGuinty. Read More

Canada's Denis Shapovalov beat Norway's Casper Ruud 7-6 (5), 6-3 in the final of the Dallas Open on Sunday. Shapovalov, from Richmond Hill, Ont., had a 13-5 edge in aces on his second-seeded opponent.
