Ottawa unveils changes to disaster management funding

The federal government unveiled reforms to its disaster relief assistance program Wednesday aimed at improving Canada’s resilience to future catastrophes.The modifications will allow the program to issue payments for previously ineligible activities such as raising flood-damaged roads or rebuilding burned homes using more fire-resistant materials.
