
Ontario is limiting first-round applications for residency positions from international medical graduates to only those who completed at least two years of high school in the province before studying abroad. The Ontario government announced the change on Wednesday, midway through the application period that ends on Nov. 27. International medical graduates, or IMGs, who did not attend an Ontario high school must now wait until the second round to apply for any unfilled positions.

Loggers’ sports evolved out of the forestry industry more than a century ago, testing loggers’ skills throwing axes, sawing logs and chopping timber. As more formal competitions emerged, the University of British Columbia’s first loggers’ sports team formed in the 1980s. The team’s current iteration, named the Thunderjacks, dates back to 2014 and competes against other university and college teams in Alberta, Montana, Idaho and California. The team also competes within the Canadian Loggers’ Sports Association, or CANLOG, on a professional level.
