Ottawa rejects salary increase for judges ahead of federal budget

Ottawa has rejected an additional salary increase for judges on top courts across the country, citing a weak fiscal outlook a day before the release of a federal budget.
Monday’s announcement was made the same day that new data show judicial vacancies are becoming a problem again.

To commemorate Veterans’ Week, the Poppy Flag will be flown at City Hall and the following City facilities from Wednesday, November 5 to Tuesday, November 11:

A violent knife-wielding woman was tasered and “inadvertently” run over twice by a Toronto police SUV during her arrest next to a Tim Hortons drive-thru on Saturday.
