After advocating for change in Ontario schools, People for Education’s Annie Kidder to retire

Annie Kidder is standing in her Toronto kitchen remembering those long-ago afternoons when she and a group of parents, most of them young mothers like her, were “embarrassing” themselves.

She’s hearkening back to the mid-1990s. Ms. Kidder was an actor turned theatre director raising two young girls, one five and the other 10 years old. That’s when things took an unexpected turn and she became a dogged champion of public education.
