Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Mon. October 20th, 2025

October 20, 2025

The Lansdowne 2.0 project is moving toward a final decision at Ottawa City Hall. Mayor Sutcliffe is arguing that the project is a good return on investment, and will actually cost less than originally estimated. He feels that local taxpayers should be encouraged by this announcement. However, a Downtown city councillor isn’t buying the hype or the decreased expenses. Capital Ward councillor Shawn Menard is openly criticizing Sutcliffe’s numbers, and believes that Lansdowne 2.0 could prove to be another costly and risky investment for the municipality. He drops by to expand on his two cents. Meantime, parents and students gathered outside a pair of local schools this morning, all part of a provincewide day of action to save Ottawa’s speed cameras. Joining us in Hour 2 is Chris Hircock, a member of School Streets Ottawa. They advocate for safer school zones and safer school commutes. Plus, the Toronto Blue Jays are gearing up for a do-or-die Game 7 against Seattle tonight! And here in Canada's Capital, a wave of October baseball fever is consuming Ottawa's small business owners.
