Canadian woman calls for justice for parents killed in Hamas Oct. 7 attack

A Canadian whose parents’ remains were held hostage in Gaza, and who has friends still captive there, says she hopes those who killed her parents and other Canadian victims will be prosecuted.

Iris Weinstein Haggai says she can’t let herself get too excited by the news that a ceasefire deal has been reached between Israel and Hamas, adding that she knows from experience that “until it’s done, it’s not done.” But she’s hopeful that all 48 hostages will be returned home soon, some to their families, and others to be buried, like her parents were in June.
