Ottawa Now - Politicians sound off on VIA Rail's reduction in non-stop service

September 26, 2025

Politicians are raising concerns about VIA Rail’s plan to introduce non-stop service on some trains between Montréal and Toronto. The pilot project starts on Monday, and the customers who are feeling the most pain are in Eastern Ontario. VIA Rail trains 60, 61, 68, and 69 will not stop in Cornwall, Brockville, Kingston, and Belleville during this commute. Brockville Mayor Matt Wren outlines what is grinding his gears on today's Ottawa Now.
