Edmonton police want review of manslaughter plea deal in death of 8-year-old

The family of an eight-year-old girl killed by her stepmother in 2023 say they are putting their faith in Edmonton police to reverse what they say is a miscarriage of justice by the province’s Crown prosecutors in accepting a plea of manslaughter.
The girl’s relatives were speaking out after an emotional hearing in an Edmonton court on Wednesday morning, in which the 29-year-old woman formally pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of her eight-year-old stepdaughter.

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office has released information on the arrest and booking of George Zinn, aged 71, on charges of obstruction of justice and possession of child sex abuse material.
