Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Tues. August 26th, 2025

August 26, 2025

The City of Ottawa has announced that all employees are returning to the office full-time, effective January 1st. A new memo from the City Manager cites it as the new standard, insisting it will help strengthen the organizational culture. This decision isn't sitting well with everyone, spawning negative reactions from multiple city councillors. Kitchissippi councillor Jeff Leiper vents his frustrations in Hour 3. But first, it’s time to tackle today’s Question of the Day! Starting this year, Ottawa’s two largest school boards will be asking students and staff members to pack ‘litterless lunches’. They will also be required to bring home any plastic, glass, or recyclables from school. Why is that, you may ask? Because all of the school’s blue bins will be gone like the dinosaurs, and out of the classroom. Do you think this plan will work, or is it wishful thinking falling on deaf ears? Text into the show and let us know.
