Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Tues. May 27th, 2025

May 27, 2025

The Canada Post strike continues, with a countrywide overtime ban in place and day-to-day operations mostly undisrupted. On Sunday, CUPW met with federal mediators to respond to Canada Post’s latest offer. They have since issued their own response to those proposals, and they hope to hear from Canada Post management in the coming days. Until a resolution is found, local businesses are doing all they can to safeguard themselves. Kristy Cameron chats with Gareth Davies, who is the owner of a gift shop on Wellington Street West called ‘Maker House’. Shifting gears back to Parliament Hill, King Charles III has delivered the Throne Speech, outlining a series of challenges that are ‘unprecedented’ in our lifetimes. CTV’s Mike LeCouteur explains further in Hour 2. Plus, we rekindle the 'drinking in parks' debate with CFRA's Chris Holski.
