This year you can ride your e-scooter 24/7 for round-the-clock fun

  The City’s e-scooter program is well underway. The 2025 program looks a lot like last year’s, with one big difference. E-scooters are now available to ride 24 hours per day throughout most of the designated riding area. There are some exceptions such as the ByWard Market which will maintain no-ride hours between 11 pm and 5 am. There are 1000 shared e-scooters in the City’s program available to rent. These e-scooters can be used throughout the designated area, which is bounded by St. Laurent Boulevard in the east, the Rideau River and Carling Avenue in the south, Churchill Avenue in the west and the Ottawa River in the north. This area may be expanded later in the season depending on interest. The 2025 season will operate, weather permitting, until November 15. Whether you ride your own electric kick-scooter or use one of the shared e-scooters from the City’s two e-scooter providers, everyone is encouraged to have a safe, fun and courteous ride on Ottawa’s streets. • For the 2025 season, the City has selected the same two providers from last season: Bird Canada Inc. and Neuron Mobility.  
• E-scooters emit a continuous sound when in use to alert other residents of their approach.  
• The e-scooter provider apps will only allow riders to end their rides in either physically designated parking areas or in approved areas identified digitally in the app.  
• If an e-scooter is parked improperly, the rider will continue to be charged a fee until it’s properly parked or retrieved by the provider. Providers may also implement fines and will remove users from their app who disregard the local rules, including sidewalk riding and improper parking.  
• Residents can report improper e-scooter parking and usage through a dedicated e-form on ottawa.ca or by calling 3-1-1. Dedicated By-law officers will also monitor parking and relocate or impound e-scooters as required.
