U.S. prosecutors will not seek the death penalty for Canadian accused in transnational drug ring case

Prosecutors say they will not seek to execute a Canadian awaiting trial in the United States for his alleged role in a transnational drug-trafficking ring accused of plotting and carrying out murders in Ontario. Andrew Clark, who is charged with drug trafficking, murder and conspiracy to commit murder, was identified by U.S. Attorney-General Pam Bondi in a February statement as a suspect who could face “death or life imprisonment” if convicted.
