It was a statement win for Mark Carney on Sunday, who needed only a single round of voting to claim the Liberal leadership race. At the time of this podcast, he is Canada’s designated Prime Minister. Well, at least for now, as an election will happen at some point in 2025. Either he will call one in short order, or one of the opposing parties will use a non-confidence vote to force one.
