On Thursday, America’s biggest boss pressed the ‘Pause’ button on some of his Canadian-made and Mexico-made tariffs. However, he has made it very clear that our country has not evaded the firing squad. Earlier today, Employment Minister Steven MacKinnon unveiled a series of enhanced supports for Canadian businesses, which will take effect immediately as we fight through these challenging times together. Halifax’s water utility says it needs to divert millions of cubic metres of waste water into the Halifax harbour and Bedford Basin as part of maintenance work in the coming weeks.A spokesperson for the utility says the Halifax and Dartmouth waste water systems need “critical” maintenance work, including upgrades to their ultraviolet disinfection equipment.
