The trade war between America and Canada is officially underway after U.S. President Donald Trump launched a series of tariffs against Canadian-made and Mexican-made goods. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says, while Mr. Trump might be a smart guy, this is a very dumb thing to do. And once again, Trudeau insists that Canada will respond with swift counter-tariffs, regrettably hurting American business owners in the process. We summarize Tuesday’s war of words in Hour 1. Closer to home, the Doug Ford government is pondering the removal of a 16-year pay freeze for Ontario’s MPPs. Some say it’s about darn time.
