For Canadian consumers, the news seems unrelentingly bad. The U.S.-Canada trade war is expected to result in higher grocery prices for items that Canada imports from the U.S., with price hikes for appliances and other goods to follow. The Conference Board of Canada's Index of Consumer Confidence, a broad measure of how Canadians feel about the economy, was already plunging in February.
