The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has banned the use of red dye No. 3 in all food and ingested drugs. Wednesday’s announcement comes more than 30 years after scientists discovered its ties to cancer in animals. This synthetic colour additive is a combination of petroleum and a chemical compound known as erythrosine. On a scale of 1 to 10, how concerned are you about additives in your food?
