Canada’s premiers and the federal finance minister pushed a message of diplomacy in Washington on Wednesday as they set out for meetings with business leaders and U.S. lawmakers, with the intention of avoiding punishing economic tariffs even as U.S. President Donald Trump vows to plow ahead.The 13 premiers met with Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc at a Washington hotel near the White House before attending private meetings in the U.S. capital.
