February 10, 2025
U.S. President Donald Trump announced 25 per cent tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports on Monday, including from Canada, reigniting a trade conflict that could have serious consequences for Canada’s export-oriented metal producers. His action reinstates a 25 per cent tariff on millions of tons of steel imports and aluminum imports that had been entering the U.S. duty-free under quota deals, exemptions and thousands of product exclusions.
