Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Tues. January 7th, 2025

January 7, 2025
A city councillor is devastated after a man in his forties suffered a tragic outcome during a cold winter’s night. He was found sleeping on the side of Elgin Street – located in Ariel Troster’s ward – and was quickly rushed to hospital while in cardiac arrest. On the verge of freezing to death, he sadly did not survive. Kristy Cameron chats with Aileen Leo, who is the Director of Communications with the Ottawa Mission. Meantime, mediated conversations continue at the bargaining table between Ontario’s Colleges and the union representing faculty members. If nothing happens over the coming days, an education strike seems imminent. CTV’s Jack Richardson delivers the details.
