Trump launches trade war against Canada with a 25% tariff on most goods

President Donald Trump launched a trade war against Canada on Saturday by imposing a 25 per cent tariff on virtually all goods from the U.S.'s neighbour — an unprecedented strike against a longstanding ally that could throw the economy into a tailspin. A White House fact sheet sent to CBC News says tariffs of 25 per cent on Mexican goods and 10 per cent on goods from China will also be levied by the U.S.
Political leaders and businesses in Saint John, N.B. are bracing for the impact of looming U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods.
