$5-million climate program to help B.C.’s tree fruit growers in extreme weather

Tree fruit growers in British Columbia are now able to access a $5-million climate resiliency program to help their crops weather extreme heat and cold.The funding comes after many B.C. crops, including cherries, plums, peaches and nectarines, were nearly wiped out by an extreme cold spell in January 2024.
Small businesses across Canada are still being taxed on their carbon tax rebates, despite a commitment from the former finance minister that they would be tax-free.
