Increase in measles cases highlights importance of vaccinations, health officer Theresa Tam says

Canada is currently experiencing an increase in measles with recent cases reported in Quebec and Ontario, Canada’s chief public health officer said Wednesday in a statement.Dr. Theresa Tam said that the majority of measles cases reported in Canada occur among unvaccinated people and many are children, including infants under one who have not yet had the opportunity to be vaccinated.
Starting Tuesday, the United States will impose across-the-board tariffs of 25 per cent on Canadian goods and 10-per-cent tariffs on “energy resources.” The 25 per cent levy will also be placed on goods from Mexico, while Chinese goods will face an additional 10 per cent tariff. The Canadian government immediately announced retaliatory tariffs on many American products.Here is how Canadian premiers reacted on Saturday.
