Today, all 4 political parties launched their election campaigns, as they gear up for 28 days of political warfare. The PC’s have launched a new ad, as Doug Ford accuses U.S. President Trump of playing games with the province’s economy. Meantime, Bonnie Crombie and the Liberals are focusing on healthcare issues. And as for the NDP, Marit Stiles has promised to remove tolls from Highway 407 if she is elected Premier. We monitor the campaign trail with CTV’s Siobhan Morris in Hour 1. Plus, we have a special edition of the Political Heat Panel this afternoon. Starting Tuesday, the United States will impose across-the-board tariffs of 25 per cent on Canadian goods and 10-per-cent tariffs on “energy resources.” The 25 per cent levy will also be placed on goods from Mexico, while Chinese goods will face an additional 10 per cent tariff.
