Armed patient allegedly injures three hospital staff in Halifax emergency room

Three hospital employees were injured in what Nova Scotia’s health minister says was an armed assault by a patient Wednesday afternoon at the Halifax Infirmary emergency department.Halifax police say they responded to a weapons complaint at the hospital and took one person into custody. Two sources said the weapon used was a knife, but they could not confirm how many of the injured were stabbed.
Starting Tuesday, the United States will impose across-the-board tariffs of 25 per cent on Canadian goods and 10-per-cent tariffs on “energy resources.” The 25 per cent levy will also be placed on goods from Mexico, while Chinese goods will face an additional 10 per cent tariff. The Canadian government immediately announced retaliatory tariffs on many American products.Here is how Canadian premiers reacted on Saturday.
