Equinor hires companies for work on stalled Bay du Nord oilfield off Newfoundland

Norwegian energy giant Equinor has contracted two companies to do preliminary work for the stalled Bay du Nord offshore oil project in Newfoundland and Labrador.BW Offshore, an international company headquartered in Norway, says Equinor hired it to do a preliminary design study for a production and storage vessel that could operate in the Bay du Nord oilfield off the coast of St. John's.
Starting Tuesday, the United States will impose across-the-board tariffs of 25 per cent on Canadian goods and 10-per-cent tariffs on “energy resources.” The 25 per cent levy will also be placed on goods from Mexico, while Chinese goods will face an additional 10 per cent tariff. The Canadian government immediately announced retaliatory tariffs on many American products.Here is how Canadian premiers reacted on Saturday.
