Sailor dead after a boat capsized in Bedford Basin, navy says

The Royal Canadian Navy says a sailor has died in the Bedford Basin after a boat capsized.The Navy says two sailors were operating a rigid-hull inflatable boat in the Halifax-area bay when it overturned and capsized around 10 p.m. on Friday.It says a rescue effort by the Joint Rescue and Coordination Centre Halifax dispatched two ships from the Canadian Coast Guard, and pulled both sailors from the water.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says she has asked the Auditor-General to expedite his review into allegations that government officials interfered with the provincial health authority’s contracting and procurement processes to the benefit of private companies.Ms. Smith said in a statement issued Saturday that she has ordered her staff to co-operate fully in that work and has also told Alberta Health Services to speed up its own internal review.
