Donald Trump has done Canada a big favour. With his unhinged threats to absorb Canada into the United States, he has helped us remember what we have and why it is worth fighting for.The reminder could not be more timely. Canada in early 2025 finds itself in a dismal state of mind. Our national leadership is in turmoil. Our cities are suffering from a triple epidemic of homelessness, addiction and mental illness. Our governments have dug themselves deep into debt, as have many households. Decent housing is out of reach for many young people.
Amazon has not responded to requests for comment but has previously dismissed claims that the layoffs are linked to a recent unionization push in the province.
